Free Online Homework Statistics Tables
Free Online Homework Statistics TablesSome parents may not be aware of the fact that there are numerous online tutoring services that offer tutorials on homework statistics tables. These tables can also be called homework measurements and can be a part of the official school or institute worksheet. The main idea behind these tables is to measure the progression of students from one grade to another. They are important for the progress of those who are very less intelligent and in the same time less in school, as these measures can help teachers, and even the school, assign grades accordingly. Teachers can also use these measures for practice and assessment purposes, since they can be used as training exercises. It is important to note that the amount of homework is not the only factor to consider when choosing the topics to be written. Sometimes, it will depend on the amount of homework that is done at a particular grade. But many times, the trend is that the more homework is done, the more tedious the homework will be.The good thing about these homework statistics tables is that there are already several such tables online. Most people know the level of intelligence or performance for certain students, but this has not been proven so far.Because of this, the range of this table will be different for every class and the classes are divided into four sections. These include the first semester, the middle school, high school and university. This makes it easier for the teachers and the instructors to decide the order of the charts. One other important factor is that the teacher can check which kids seem to be in trouble, and then he can use classroom diagrams and check out the figures. The objective is to use such a table as a guide for both teaching and learning. The homework statistics tables will usually include asample of work and help the teacher to choose the right subject for the students to learn. While others prefer them to be used as a simple exercise, in f act, there are many people who are actually interested in how these tables work.

What is it Like to Attend Amherst College
What is it Like to Attend Amherst College The tutors behind Varsity Tutors are not just here to teachtheyre sharing their college experiences as well. Yeva is earning her bachelors degree in sociology at Amherst College. She lives in Boston and specializes in algebra tutoring, calculus tutoring, chemistry tutoring, and several other subjects. See what she had to say about her experience at Amherst College: Describe the campus setting and transportation options at Amherst College. Yeva: Amherst Colleges campus is small and walkable. A walk from one side of campus to the other takes about five to ten minutes. Some students have bikes, some even have scooters, but most prefer to walk. To travel to one of the four other colleges in the Amherst area, students take the bus, which is free for all college students. Students also use the bus to travel to nearby shopping centers and restaurants. Amherst is located in rural Western Massachusetts and is very safe. How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Yeva:Professors are extremely accessible; students have no difficulty arranging meetings with professors and academic advisors, and they often regret not taking full advantage of the accessibility of faculty. Teaching assistants hold review sessions frequently and are available for extra tutoring if needed. How would you describe the dorm liferooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Yeva:Amherst College dorms are simply stunning. The rooms are huge and the hallways have hardwood floors. The common spaces are beautiful. You will never find even one cinderblock wall. My single room for next semester is bigger than most of the doubles I have seen at other universities. First year students live on the First Year Quad, and being close to their classmates allows them to form strong bonds with each other. Most students have an unlimited meal plan, although the dining hall is not open for as many hours as dining halls at other colleges. Which majors/programs are best represented and supported at Amherst College? Yeva:The most popular majors are economics, history, English, psychology, and political science. Amherst College also has many pre-med and pre-law students. I am majoring in sociology and I am pre-med. I am interested in learning about social structures and how they affect both individuals and people as classes. I have strong interests in both medicine and education, so I am looking to combine those interests into a fulfilling career after I graduate. Because there is a very small student-to-faculty ratio at Amherst College, professors are highly interested in supporting students and their individual goals. Amherst has an open curriculum (meaning no classes are required outside of completing a major), so students create unique curricula and professors are eager to support them. How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Yeva:Because students come from all parts of the nation and the world, they are eager to meet each other and make new friends. I made many friends during orientation, which lasts for a week and includes activities such as camping, film-making, and yoga. Most students find friends in their extracurricular groups or on their sports teams. Amherst College has no Greek life at all, and I believe that has improved social life on campus very much. How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services? Yeva:The Career Center has been extremely supportive. It has open hours for students to discuss career plans and job searches with both professional and peer career advisors. It also maintains strong connections with alumni. The Career Center has a program called Amherst Select that allows students to apply for internships and jobs that are open only to Amherst College students. It also allows students to be matched with alumni as career mentors. How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Yeva:Although the libraries tend to be crowded during finals, spaces are usually easy to find. Many choose the traditional route and study in the library, but some, including me, prefer to find small study nooks in dorms, academic buildings, and the campus center. Finding the coolest study spot is an unofficial sport at Amherst. Describe the surrounding town. Yeva:Amherst is a small town that has a bustling downtown area. Downtown, youll find restaurants and shops that many students love. One famous spot is Antonios Pizza, which many claim has the best pizza in the U.S. Hampshire Mall is located a bus-ride away, and has several stores, a movie theater, laser tag, and a roller skating rink. Most students venture into town about once or twice a week, and take the bus to Hampshire Mall every one or two weeks. How big or small is the student body at Amherst College? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Yeva:Amherst College has around 1,800 students who are all undergraduates. All classes are taught by professors and class sizes are very small. My biggest lecture last year, Introductory Chemistry, had only 80 students. Social science and humanities courses often have around fifteen students or less. I love small classes because of how much discussion and individual attention there is. Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Yeva:Near the beginning of my first semester at Amherst, I needed to stop by my chemistry professors office to pick up a quiz. I expected to grab the quiz and leave; after all, this was my biggest class, and I doubted the professor would even remember my name. However, my professor told me to sit down and asked me how my year was going so far. We ended up talking for almost an hour about everything from seasonal allergies to gymnastics. Then, he said, Oh! Youre here for your quiz! He helped me review the problems that I had missed and explained everything thoroughly. After this experience, I realized that coming into my professors offices would never be a waste of my time or theirs. They genuinely want to get to know their students on a personal level in addition to an intellectual level. Check out Yevas tutoring profile. Study Strategies for Reading
Study Strategies for Reading Are you struggling to keep up in your English classes? Do you find your reading habits negatively impacting other areas of study? Dont worry, youre not alone! Reading strategies throughout all types of text are fundamental to succeeding in school, but can often be tricky to master. Refining the skills below can not only help you excel in your English classes, but also assist in other subjects where reading is necessary. Lets take a look Preview the text If you are assigned a section to read in a textbook, its important to do a quick pre-scan to prepare yourself for the information you are going to learn. This doesnt mean read the entire text, just look for important text features. What are you looking for in this initial scan? Note the bolded words, as they are important and highlighted for a reason. It will be helpful to look them up and understand them before you begin to read more carefully. Look at the headings and subheadings to give yourself a preview of how the information will be structured. Textbooks are organized in a very purposeful way, to chunk similar and related information and to present the most significant concepts first. If you understand the format, the information will be easier to digest. Read through any review questions that may be provided at the end of the given section. If your teacher has provided unique questions on a separate worksheet or document, look through those to note what information you should be looking for. Such review questions, whether from the book itself or from your teacher, can help successfully guide your reading. [RELATED: How to Stay Focused on Long Reading Passages] Read and take notes with purpose As you read, you should be taking notes on key information that will help you retain the content. Although note-taking may seem easy, theres a fine line between taking too many notes and not taking enough. You dont want to rewrite the entire text, but you dont want to miss any important concepts. So, how do you know what to jot down? Ask yourself questions as you read. Whats the main idea of the passage? Your skim through in the previous step should have given you some hints as to what it could be. Elements that are related to that main idea are important to take down as notes, while elements that are unrelated arent typically the things you need to write down (unless your teacher mentioned them separately). Utilize your text features. If there is a numbered list in a textbook, its typically information that is important to learn (and, from a teachers perspective, is easily testable!). Timelines are also important. Although your teacher may not require you to memorize dates, knowing the progression of events is beneficial to your full understanding of them. Consider a note-taking format that works best for you personally. Think about what type of learner you are. If you learn better by drawing, for example, make diagrams and pictures to help you remember the content. Consider using different colored pens and highlighters to distinguish information. Note-taking doesnt have to be boring, and it should suit the person who is taking the notes. Relook and review Your work is not done when the last word of the text is read. To fully understand a text, you will need to go back through your notes (as well as the guided questions), and then do another quick scan of the text to ensure you understood all of the important concepts. If youre going to be tested on specific areas of the content, it may be necessary to recall certain details or facts, which will be difficult if you only give the text one read. What steps should you take after you finish your initial read? Is there a spot in the text you struggled with most? Be sure to go back and reread that section carefully. If some parts arent making sense, you may need to do some further research, whether its in the text or online, to be sure youre understanding the concepts correctly. Are you going to be tested on this information? If so, youll likely need to make flashcards or some other type of study device to help you retain the key ideas. These study resources you create should come from the notes you took as you were reading. Summarize the main point of the text, either in paper or even just in your head. In less than three sentences, you should be able to report what the text is about. If you can successfully do that, you likely have a solid understanding of what youve read. If not, you may need to repeat this last step. If you decide you need further help with reading strategies, consider reading tutoring with an expert who can assist you personally. How to Stay Organized During Midterms
How to Stay Organized During Midterms Staying organized during midterms can mean the difference between getting the best grade you can and missing your goal entirely. Its not only important to think about what you need to study, but how and when you need to fit studying in among other activities like sports, clubs, or a job. Keep your academic (and personal) life sane and structured as you move into midterm season to help maximize your scores on these important tests. Here are somepointers for how to stay organized during midterms: 1. Start studying for midterms early Its not in your best interest to crack open your textbook the week of the test. Your midterm exam likely encompasses half of your courses material, and you didnt you learn that material over a few days time it took weeks. Instead, review your notes as you go along in the course, making sure that you understand each concept before moving on to new material. Beginning two or more weeks before midterms, review the material that will appear on the exam. Since youll have already learned the material during your first pass through, this review will reinforce the material and help you to master it as you move toward the midterm. 2. Make a midterm study schedule Mastering half a semesters worth of material can seem daunting, especially if you have multiple midterms. A month before your midterms, sit down and plot out how the next four weeks will go. Cycle through your subjects as you study, making sure that you balance studying for midterms with the coursework expected of you leading up to the exams. For example, you could plan to review chapters one and two of biology and practice simplifying polynomials for your Algebra class on Monday night, review two novels for your English exam and study for your biology quiz on Tuesday, and catch up on math assignments and write an English essay on Wednesday. Balance is key, and plotting out a schedule can help you achieve that balance. 3. Make lists of questions, problems, and topics Keeping lists of questions you have, problems you cant solve, and even topics you already know and dont need to revisit can prevent you from wasting time and allow you to budget more time for difficult topics. Keeping a list of questions and problems you still have can make meeting with a tutor for help before the exam more productive, as youll be able to exclusively focus on problem areas without having to waste time. Keep your lists somewhere close to your study space, and make two lists for each subject: things you know and things you need to study. 4. Get into a study routine Designating time each day for midterm studying can help prevent cramming later on. As you make your study schedule, make sure to incorporate specific time (separate from other homework and academic obligations) in which you will hold yourself accountable for preparing for your midterm. Start with as little as an hour each day a month before the exams, and progressively increase your time spent preparing for midterms as they approach. Making time to study can help keep you focused on midterms without being weighed down by the other responsibilities in your life.
